Invitation to Stillness and Response

One danger of spiritual formation is a tendency to become self-focused and ignore the outside world. Our formation in Christlikeness is never for our benefit alone. It is always for the sake of the world. But the other extreme is equally dangerous, being so full of busyness and activity that we become worn out, giving and serving from an empty spirit. In this series, we ask how might we cultivate a spirit of stillness, grounded in God’s presence? How might this stillness help us discern where the Lord is inviting us to serve the kingdom of God and serve from the overflow of God’s presence in our lives?
